Hello! My name is Erin. Erin Marie Mcknight Maidman-totally shortening that when I get hitched!!
I'm currently attending Mesa Community College in Arizona for Social Work, and I will be switching to ASU next fall. I want to focus on mental health and substance abuse social work.
I have had 8 jobs, but I'm currently unemployed and living off the government-yep I'm one of those people. :P
I am the most scatterbrained people you'll ever meet. I love so many things. I love biking, painting, photography, facebook creeping, hanging out with friends, church, girl's nights, worship, intercessory prayer and photo editing. I love exploring new places, traveling and researching current events from differing perspectives. I'm all over the place!
I love babies, tattoos, art, friends, collossians 3, Romans 8:38-39, Jesus, ice cream, pizza, cinnamon sticks, family, purses, shoes, blouses, dresses, and anything clothes related. I love clothes. I love anything artsy fartsy. I'm a very girly girl. If it's pink or purple I'm all over it. I don't like fakeness. I love it when people are real and raw. I'm one of those people that people tell everything to and I love being that person. I love hearing people's stories and getting to know them for who they really are. I dearly love to laugh. I have a loud crazy laugh-you'll never hear anything like it as long as you live. I have 3 tattoos, and I'm getting a 4th one in a month-it's gonna have butterflies and say, "He set the captives free!"-so excited. I also have a cat inside a moon with roses and butterflies on my ankle, and cherry blossoms on my calf with romans 8:38-39, and forgiven on my wrist with a heart underneath it-I'm kind of addicted to tattoos!! I have the gift of prophecy, and I love encouraging people. My favorite thing in life (besides Jesus!) is friendship. I think it is God's greatest gift to us. Friendship and laughter. It's so beautiful.
This is my first overseas missions trip! I have done intercity ministry before, and I have worked with the mentally handicapped, but this is my first experience with anything like this-especially evangelism!
I have had a very hard life. My life has prepared me for this trip in ways that I'm sure i'm not even aware of yet. I have been through a lot of trauma. I have never seen someone come to Christ. I feel like God is telling me I will see that a lot this summer. I am so excited! I want to bring the women and children of Thailand the freedom that was bought for us in Christ's blood. It is the most incredible feeling there is-freedom in love. I'm scared of missing my friends and family, but i'm so excited for how God is going to strengthen me there. I can't wait to meet all of you. I'm praying for you now!
Love, Erin
