Hello! I’m Samantha Rosenfeld, but people usually just call me Sam.
I currently live in Kintnersville, PA on a boy’s summer camp/horse farm. (It’s a really cool story the way God placed my family where we are today). I attend Eastern University, near Philadelphia, PA, which is only about an hour from my home, which is super nice because I need to see my dog, Oliver, weekly. (Please don’t judge me!) I am currently double majoring in Communications and Journalism, and I hope to work in the news industry, whether that is behind a desk writing for the New York Times, or in front of a camera as a news anchor. I am also considering minoring in missions.
I do work a steady, 20 hour a week job, as an assistant manager, at a small privately owned business called Deconstructed Living. We sell reclaimed, vintage, recycled, and repurposed things of all sizes. I try to provide a living for myself, and these opportunities have helped immensely.
In my spare time (which is rare!) I love spending time with my boyfriend of two and a half years, Marshall. I also love to write, play soccer, horseback ride, shop, and be around family and friends. (I’m quite normal, I promise.) My number one passion in life is Jesus Christ, my Savior. He has become the only constant in my life and my absolute everything. He has given me this desire to work with human trafficking victims since my sophomore year in high school, and this trip has become an answer to my prayers. I highly suggest that if you know little or nothing about human trafficking that you watch a documentary called “This is Not My Life” by CNN. It explains a lot of the misconceptions and parts of the slave trade.
So far, I have gone with “Meeting God in Missions” and worked in the Dominican Republic four times on missions trips, but they only lasted for one week. This is my first time leaving the country without anyone I know, and for such a long time. It is the time away that is concerning me the most. However, I cannot wait to put into practice all I have gathered from my research of human trafficking, and become God’s hands in Thailand this summer. I look forward to meeting you beautiful women of God soon, and embark on this life-changing journey!
